I have always loved watching sunsets. It’s like watching live performance art in front of your own eyes. When we moved into our current house, I was so excited because I not only had an amazing view of the sunset every night, if I walked a little ways down a path, I could also catch a sunrise as well. I am not a morning person and have only truly done that once! Anyway, here are some pictures of last night’s sunset. I added a little drama by saturating the colors. Enjoy! [Disable Flash Gallery]
Merry Christmas
My boys had an amazing Christmas and I’d just love to share some family pictures from our day. These are more “snapshots” and not really the professional quality I normally do, however, I love the emotion that is shown in each and every shot. Christmas certainly is a magical day for a child.
Derek and Melissa — Engagement Photos
On Sunday, I had a wonderful time photographing Melissa and Derek and their adorable dogs. When they contacted me about doing their engagement photos, they mentioned they wanted to have them done at their home. What beautiful scenery! They are such a sweet couple and their love for one another definitely shows in their photos. Thank you so much for the honor of photographing your engagement pictures. Congratulations!!

Glorious Sunset photographed in my PJ’s
Today we had a much needed stay at home in our Jammies day. We had a wonderful visit with our family yesterday, but I could tell that both kids were tired, so I made the executive decision that we were going to stay in our PJ’s all day. We cleaned the kitchen and living room and got out the Christmas Decorations. At around 4:30, I looked out our back window and noticed that the sunset looked phenomenal. I stepped into my boots and threw on my coat over my Betty Book Jammies and high-tailed it out onto the golf course behind our house. Just as I was leaving, Danny said, “Mom, what if someone sees you?” My reply was, “No one’s going to be out there.” I was wrong… My neighbor and his wife were walking their dog who promptly ran up to me and jumped on me. I know they saw my PJ’s, but I didn’t care. The sheer beauty of the sunset outweighed any embarrassment I could have possibly felt. Have a look for yourself!
My Best Friend’s Wedding
Remember how I said some weddings were more special than others… Well, this was a super special wedding as well. My best friend got married last weekend and I was blessed to be able to be part of their special day. Jen and I have known each other for about 30 years. She is like a sister to me and I can’t even tell you what an honor it was to be a part of their special day as both the best friend of the bride and the photographer.
Here are some pics from Jen and Paul’s wedding. I love you both and I’m so happy for you!!!!

Sunday in the Park
Again, I had another Sunday afternoon with not much to do, so my choices were the gym or another photo safari. I, again, chose the latter. I gave myself an assignment that I was to look for interesting patterns or textures and I would convert it all to black and white. I did look for interesting colors and patterns, but I was not firm about the black and white rule. I took a walk behind the Police Athletic League building on Essex Street. There is a swamp and I think I counted at least 36 ducks trying to get some lunch.
The gym or pictures???
I decided to take pictures, but I really wanted to get some exercise too, so I grabbed my camera and headed to the Bangor City Forest. I wasn’t feeling super-inspired, so I gave myself a photo assignment to find splashes of color in the mostly brown fall landscape. I found some pretty fall colors as well as some interesting way light was hitting things in the forest. Here are some pictures from my walk. Enjoy!
Kyle and Ashley — October 29, 2011
Every wedding I shoot is special. Having the honor of following a bride and groom around on one of the most important days of their lives is absolutely a thrill. But this one was extra-special. The bride, Ashley, was a freshman on the first JV field hockey team that I ever coached. It was a thrill to see what a beautiful and mature young woman she has grown up to be. I couldn’t be more proud. Several of the girls on that first field hockey team were either in the wedding party or they attended the wedding. I usually am pretty laid back and I don’t try to push shots on brides. I capture the moments as they happen, but in preparing for the wedding, I told Ashley that I WOULD be taking a shot of the field hockey girls. They have all grown to be such strong and beautiful young ladies on the inside and out.
Ashley, thank you for letting us be a part of your special day. I love you!!
